Who are we?

Cycling Queensland (CQ) is the governing body for organised competitive cycling within

Queensland, Australia.  CQ has been in operation since 1893. CQ is an affiliate of

Cycling Australia (CA) and the UCI (International Cycling Union) and currently

has 29 affiliated clubs and over 4000 members throughout Queensland consisting

of males and females as young as 5 to well into their 70’s & 80's.

 

STAFF PORTFOLIOS

 

COMPETITIVE: Coordinates the competitive disciplines of road and track cycling at a club and state

level and also manages the selection of Queensland Road and Track cycling teams for representation

at National Championships.

 

RECREATIONAL: Provides options for Recreational cyclists including great insurance coverage.

 

DEVELOPMENT: Coordinates Coaching & Officials Courses, Junior Development Camps, School Clinics,

plus Come ‘n’ Try Road and Track cycling days.

 

INSURANCE:  A CA licence covers riders for all activities including racing, organised training, including

individual training, meetings, fundraisingactivities and travel to and from these activities.

 

VISION
Cycling Queensland will be a role model in the sporting industry as a professional body committed to

increasing the awareness of cycling, the development of the sport and the formation of strategic alliances.

Cycling Queensland aims to support, recognise and represent all cyclists and promoting cycling events from

recreational to elite competitive levels.

 

MISSION STATEMENT
Develop and promote recreational and competitive cycling in Queensland for the benefit of all.

OBJECTIVES
  • A Board of Directors that provides quality governance, leadership and strategic direction
    for the
    Association.
  • An appropriately resourced management team that is skilled and committed to the
    implementation
    of Cycling Queensland's mission.
  • Enhance services to key stakeholders and optimise the operations of Cycling Queensland
    office,
    taking advantage of advances in Technology.
  • Ensure sound financial management to be financially accountable and viable with a
    diverse and
    increasing revenue base.
  • To continue to adopt the current stance of zero tolerance to drugs in sport.
  • Establish and maintain strategic alliances for the promotion of cycling, increasing membership
    and
    awareness, and enhancing the delivery of service to members.
  • To develop cycling as a sport that is accessible and enjoyed by all, to the optimum of their ability.
  • To identify, analyse, evaluate and manage risks.
  • Ensure Cycling Queensland has sufficient appropriately trained volunteers for efficient operation
    of
    the association.
  • To encourage and support the athletes, coaches and officials, in the pursuit of excellence
    in
    their disciplines.
