1. Preference will be given to participants who are planning to utilise their Coaching Accreditation to assist with Club and State organised programs, events and initiatives. 
2. Applications are processed on a 'first in best dressed' basis

ROAD & TRACK

NCAS ROAD AND TRACK SKILLS COURSE

This course is discipline and event-specific to Road and Track cycling, designed and targeted for beginner coaches who assist club riders to build their riding skills and learn basic racing skills. The course addresses, discipline-specific planning and evaluation, bike set-up, cycling skill development and practical coaching. The course is a two day program combined with the AustCycle Skills Coaching Course and is delivered by the constituent state organisations of Cycling Australia.

NCAS LEVEL 1 ROAD & TRACK COACHING COURSE

The Level 1 Road & Track is a coaching course aimed at people who want to coach club level and state/territory championship level road and track riders to develop and advance their road and track technical skills, riding fitness and racing skills. The coaching course addresses generic coaching and its application to road and track coaching, and teaches coaches how to nurture and develop road and track riders. The accreditation allows you to independently plan, prescribe and evaluate road and track training for road and track riders. The work of coaches at this level will be vital in supporting new, developing riders and enhancing the performance of existing riders.

NCAS LEVEL 2 ROAD & TRACK COACHING COURSE 

The Level 2 R&T Coaching course is aimed at the coach who works with elite athletes competing in National Championships. In particular, this course provides the underpinning knowledge for coaching an emerging elite young athlete who seeks to represent Australia at Junior or Under- 23 international events.

The course provides in-depth information on the physiology and physiological assessment of a cyclist, performance monitoring and assessment, sports psychology in cycling, advanced racing skills and race preparation, and recovery and crisis management of the injured cyclist. The Level 2 R&T coaching course has been extended from previous years and will now be delivered over six days.

MOUNTAIN BIKE

NCAS LEVEL 1  MOUNTAIN BIKE COACHING COURSE

The Level 1 mountain bike is a coaching course aimed at people who want to coach club level and state/territory championship level mountain bike riders to develop and advance their mountain bike technical skills, riding fitness and racing skills. The coaching course addresses generic coaching and its application to mountain bike coaching, and teaches coaches how to nurture and develop mountain bike riders. The accreditation allows you to independently plan, prescribe and evaluate mountain bike training for mountain bike riders. The work of coaches at this level will be vital in supporting new, developing riders and enhancing the performance of existing riders.

BMX 

NCAS BEGINNER BMX COACHING COURSE

The Beginner BMX Coaching Course is an entry- level course aimed at people who want to coach a novice or Sprocket level BMX rider. The course aims to teach the Beginner Coach the basics of BMX coaching, including: the role of the coach, planning and reviewing a session and managing risk. Knowledge and implementation on how to break down and coach the basic bike handling skills (from flat land progressing to the BMX track), correct fitting of helmets , and optimising bike fit and set up using existing equipment will be gained from this course. The focus of coaches at this level will be vital in supporting the growth in new riders participating in BMX.

NCAS FREESTYLE BMX COACHING COURSE

The Freestyle BMX coaching course is aimed at people who want to coach beginner riders to develop and advance their Freestyle BMX skills. The training program includes generic coaching principles and their application to Freestyle BMX coaching. The accreditation allows you to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions for Freestyle BMX riders. The work of Freestyle BMX coaches is vital in supporting new riders to the sport

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION (AUSTCYCLE) 

NCAS AUSTCYCLE SKILLS COACH COURSE

Specifically targeted at coaches who desire to assist novice riders in the areas of bicycle skills, road-worthiness, the correct choice and fitting of cycling equipment and optimising bicycle set-up. The course is one day in duration and is delivered by the constituent federations of Cycling Australia and AustCycle.

NCAS LEVEL 1 AUSTCYCLE TEACHER ACCREDITATION PROGRAM

AustCycle is a system of accreditation for coaches/instructors (to be termed 'Teachers'), support for 'Providers' (people running cycling schools providing the Teachers for activities) and promotion of the importance of cycling training in the community to allow safe and effective cycling.

AustCycle is the result of over a decade of research, which has identified a strong need to develop a national cycling training scheme.

AustCycle is a joint venture between Cycling Australia and the Amy Gillett Foundation (AGF). It was established to deliver high quality cycling training to Australians of all ages so that they can ride further, more often, more confidently and more safely. This will result in more active, healthy, happy Australians and a safer, cleaner environment.
